Trip Planning
Arctic Treks offers a diverse selection of enticing trips across the length and breadth of Alaska’s Arctic. All of our trips are within one or more of the Brooks Range’s unparalled continuum of national parks and refuges: the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Gates of the Arctic National Park, Noatak National Preserve, Kobuk Valley National Park, Cape Krusenstern National Monument, and Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, or in the vast wilderness of the Western Arctic.
Each of our trips begins and ends in Fairbanks. From there, the specific trip area is accessed by air, traveling first by scheduled mail planes to the closest village, then flying in a smaller air taxi into the wilderness itself, using tundra tires to land on river gravel bars or tundra, or float to land on rivers or mountain lakes. This journey into and out of each trip area is itself an exciting adventure, with opportunities for incredible flightseeing.
Trip Planning
You need to be in Fairbanks the day before the trip start date, and we’re scheduled to be back in Fairbanks by late afternoon/early evening of the trip end date. We recommend leaving at least a day’s leeway at the end of the trip in scheduling other travel plans, since there’s always a chance of getting weathered in at the pickup point.
Custom Trips
We can design custom trips for groups of 3-9. These can be tailored to your desired dates and interests, and can include trips we’re currently running, others we’ve done in the past, or completely new adventures.
